Job summary

Heartland Dental's Wedgewood Square Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant to join the team. You will support dentists with chairside assistance, manage patient education, and handle scheduling using Dentrix.

A fast-paced, patient-focused environment is expected with strict adherence to safety and PHI protection. Qualified candidates will have dental assistant certification and X-ray certification, with preferred experience in a dental setting and familiarity with iTero scanning.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Certification required by state practice act (if applicable).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history for quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC guidance.
• Manage supplies and place expeditious orders; support Heartland Dental systems.
