Job summary

Affordable Dentures & Implants seeks a compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team in Asheville, NC. You will provide chairside support across denture procedures, implants, oral surgery and removable prosthetics while ensuring exceptional patient care.

You will prepare operatories, assist with impressions and wax bites, educate patients, maintain records, and uphold infection control standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Dental Assistant and X-ray certification as per state requirements.
• Experience with dentures, removable prosthetics, or dental implants is preferred.
• Experience taking denture impressions and wax bites.
• Experience assisting with oral surgery and extractions.
• Experience with prosthodontic procedures.
• Familiarity with dental practice management software and electronic patient records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver chairside support and create a welcoming patient experience from check-in through treatment.
• Prepare operatories, instruments, equipment and materials for each patient.
• Assist dentists during denture procedures, implants, oral surgery, extractions and prosthetic treatments.
• Take alginate denture impressions; select trays and prepare wax bites under dentist direction.
• Assist with denture insertions, relines, repairs and other duties where allowed by state law.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, dentures, implant procedures, post-op care, home care and financial packages.
• Maintain patient medical histories, treatment info and clinical notes.
• Take dental radiographs per state certification requirements.
• Maintain infection control standards and sterilize instruments and operatories.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
• Support daily office operations and maintain a clean clinical environment.
• Travel for training/CE as needed.
