Job summary

Affordable Dentures & Implants in New Jersey is seeking a compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. You will provide chairside support across denture procedures, implants, oral surgery, and removable prosthetics, while maintaining a patient-centered, efficient clinical environment.

You will prepare operatories, assist with denture impressions and wax bites, and educate patients on treatment options and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Dental Assistant and X-ray certification (state-dependent).
• Strong communication and patient service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and compassionate patient care.
• 1+ year of dental assisting experience (preferred).
• Experience with dentures, removable prosthetics, or dental implants (preferred).
• Experience taking denture impressions and wax bites (preferred).
• Experience assisting with oral surgery and extractions (preferred).
• Experience with prosthodontic procedures and dental practice software (preferred).
• Familiarity with electronic patient records (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver chairside support and create a welcoming patient experience from check-in to treatment.
• Prepare operatories, instruments, equipment, and materials for each patient.
• Assist dentists during denture procedures, implant placement, oral surgery, extractions, and prosthetic treatments.
• Take and assist with alginate denture impressions; prepare impression trays and wax bites.
• Assist with denture insertions, relines, repairs, and expanded duties as allowed by state law.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, denture options, implants, post-op care, and at-home care.
• Obtain and document patient histories, treatment information, and clinical notes.
• Take dental radiographs in line with state certification requirements.
• Maintain infection control standards and sterilize instruments and operatories.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering clinical supplies.
• Support daily office operations and keep a clean, organized clinical environment.
• Travel for training and continuing education as needed.
• Perform other duties to support patient care and office success.
