Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant in Elkhart, IN to join a supportive team. New DA graduates welcome; Indiana Radiology license or permit with planned radiology test required. You will greet patients, assist clinicians, take X-rays, and help maintain a clean, safe treatment area.

You’ll use Dentrix for scheduling and records, participate in continuing education, and enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Indiana Radiology license or permit with planned radiology test.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and educate during treatment.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and records keeping.
• Maintain safety with OSHA & CDC guidelines and standard precautions.
• Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
