Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant in the Grand Rapids, MI area. You will greet patients, review health histories, and perform x-rays and diagnostic tasks using iTero and digital photography, while assisting dentists with a variety of procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
• Dentrix or other dental software experience.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate while maintaining comfort throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists during various procedures.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping.
• Prepare treatment room following safety protocols and OSHA/CDC guidelines.
• Manage supplies and inventory and place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
