We are seeking a full-time Dental Assistant at Tomoka Correctional Institution in Daytona Beach, FL. The role supports the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry within a correctional setting, prepares and sterilizes instruments, maintains the operatory, and handles radiographic work along with administrative duties.

The schedule is 6:30a-5pm, Monday through Thursday. A High School Diploma/GED, Florida DA license (or ability to obtain), and relevant certifications are required;

• Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certificate preferred; if not held, must obtain within first year.

• Assist Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside care.

• Prepare and maintain dental operatory and assist with radiographic equipment.
• Perform related administrative tasks as needed.
• Ensure compliance with TB screening and CPR requirements.

We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at Tomoka Correctional Institution located in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision, assisting the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Additional responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and additional administrative tasks as needed.

6:30a-5pm Monday-Thursday

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent


• Florida DA license or ability to obtain license


• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment


• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred


• Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification


• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
