Dental Assistant

Neibauer Dental Care in South Riding is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team.

More about the role

• Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and providing education throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to deliver quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments, including iTero 3D scans and digital photography.
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) during procedures in accordance with state dental practice laws.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms adhering to safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidelines.
• Manage supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed.
• Collaborate with the team to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a dental setting.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• VA x-ray certification.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to access minimum PHI necessary for job functions; regular HIPAA training required; must protect PHI and maintain data security.

Preferred Experience

• Over 3 years of dental experience.
• Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
• Dental assisting certification from an accredited school.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Prolonged sitting and standing.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Availability for periodic virtual or in-person training sessions.
• TB test required prior to employment, except in FL & TN; arrangements provided during pre-employment.
