Job summary

Centurion is the provider of dental services to the Florida Department of Corrections. We are seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at CFRC - Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando, FL.

The role works under the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Core duties include preparing and sterilizing instruments, maintaining the operatory, operating radiographic equipment and handling administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or 6 months experience.
• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one.
• Expanded duty dental assistant certification preferred; if not present, must obtain in first year.
• Certification and/or prior experience performing dental x-rays preferred.
• Must show/obtain PPD tuberculosis documentation.
• Must be certified in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Centurion is proud to be the provider of dental services to the Florida Department of Corrections.We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at CFRC - Central Florida Reception Center located in Orlando, Florida.The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.Essential Duties:• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments• Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory• Operating radiographic equipment• Administrative tasks as neededHours: 6am to 3p Monday-Thursday and 6am to 12:30pm on Friday• High school diploma or GED equivalent required• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred• Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
