The Dental Assistant is responsible for ensuring an excellent patient experience while 'in the chair' and for overall patient retention.

Essential Functions
  • Provide exceptional customer service with an excellent chair-side manner, prioritizing the patient.
  • Be present, engaged, and ready at all assigned shift times.
  • Assist the doctor and hygienists with procedures and anticipate their needs.
  • Take, develop, and mount high-quality radiographs.
  • Review patient charts, log data, and transcribe doctor’s notes during exams and treatments.
  • Prepare and sterilize equipment and operatories according to procedures before patient appointments.
  • Maintain schedule and patient flow through efficient procedures.
  • Educate patients and address their questions and concerns.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver an extraordinary patient experience.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain high-quality service and integrity.
  • Assist front office with scheduling follow-ups and tracking lab cases.
  • Monitor and order dental supplies as assigned.
  • Promote Sonrava’s services and retail products.
  • Complete checklists and participate in daily huddles for smooth operations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Follow safety policies, OSHA, and BBP regulations.
  • Complete all required training modules.
Education/Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current radiography certification required.
  • Dental Assistant certification as per state requirements or ability to become certified.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen monitoring certification preferred.
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training.

  • Overtime as approved by the Operations Leader.
  • Travel for training and job functions as needed.
  • Adherence to safety procedures and use of PPE.
  • Potential for prolonged sitting and standing.
