Job summary

Kids Dental Brands in Gulfport, MS is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists in chair-side patient care and lab duties. The role includes taking x-rays, preparing and sterilizing instruments, taking impressions, and assisting with procedures.

Certification as a Dental Assistant is required, CDA/RDA preferred. On-site, full-time position with opportunities for growth in a kid-friendly practice.

Qualifications

• CDA or RDA certification required.
• No prior experience required but must have Dental Assistant certification.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work chair-side with dentists, assisting in patient care and general laboratory duties.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Take impressions of patients' teeth and assist with procedures.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene strategies.
• Review patient medical history and monitor vital signs.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment.
• Provide post-treatment oral care instructions.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Takeand processdental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepareand sterilizeinstruments and equipment
• Takeimpressions of the patient's teeth(models), extractions, composite fillings, etc...
• Teachpatients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Askabout the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse
• Helppatients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures

• Additional Certifications:X-ray certification, Sealant polishing & Nitrous Certification is a plus.
• Experience: No previous experience required butmust have Dental Assistant certification
• Job Type:Full-time

Compensation and Schedule

• Salary:Starting at $13.00depending on certifications. Additional increases for experience
• Bonus Pay:up to $600 additional per month
• Schedule:On-site. Monday - Friday
