Job summary

Kids Dental Brands in Gulfport, MS seeks a full-time Dental Assistant for South Mississippi Smiles. You will work chair-side with dentists, take radiographs, prepare and sterilize instruments, and assist with patient care to ensure a positive experience for children and families.

No prior experience is required, but you must have a Dental Assistant certification; X-ray certification is a plus. This on-site position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certifications required: CDA or RDA.
• Dental Assistant certification required to work as a Dental Assistant.
• X-ray certification is a plus.
• Sealant polishing & nitrous certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Chair-side work with dentists and patient care.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Take impressions of teeth and perform procedures like extractions and fillings.
• Teach patients oral hygiene and provide post-treatment instructions.
• Obtain medical history and monitor vitals (blood pressure, pulse).
• Help patients feel comfortable during visits and afterward.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Takeand processdental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepareand sterilizeinstruments and equipment
• Takeimpressions of the patient's teeth(models), extractions, composite fillings, etc...
• Teachpatients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Askabout the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse
• Helppatients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures

Compensation and Schedule

• Salary:Starting at $13.00depending on certifications. Additional increases for experience
• Bonus Pay:up to $600 additional per month
• Schedule:On-site. Monday-Friday
