Dental Assistant

Waterford Family Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

More about the role

1. Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and providing education throughout treatment.
2. Review patient health histories to ensure quality care.
3. Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
4. Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) during various procedures in accordance with state dental practice laws.
5. Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
6. Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidelines.
7. Manage supply and inventory levels, and place orders as needed.
8. Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Dental assistant and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to protect PHI and comply with HIPAA training requirements.

Preferred Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a dental setting.
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software.
• Dental assisting certification from an accredited program.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations.
• Prolonged sitting and standing.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
• Availability for periodic virtual or in-person training sessions.
• TB test required prior to employment, except in FL & TN.
