As a Dental Assistant at Dental Works, patient care is your #1 priority and focus. Dental Assistants are a critical part of our mission because they not only support the patient, but they also provide the doctor with valuable assistance on patient procedures. The Dental Assistant has direct responsibility for the patient’s excellent experience while "in the chair," and patient retention overall.
We are searching for talented people who want to provide excellent customer service for the patient, support the doctor, and possess an amiable chair-side manner. Essential Functions
- Provide exceptional customer service with excellent chair-side manner, making the patient the #1 priority.
- Be present, engaged, and ready to work at all assigned shift times.
- Assist the doctor and hygienists with all dental procedures, taking direction and anticipating needs.
- Take, develop, and mount accurate radiographs.
- Review patient charts, log data, and transcribe notes accurately.
- Prepare and sterilize equipment and operatory per procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain schedule and patient flow with efficient procedures.
- Educate patients and address questions or concerns.
- Demonstrate teamwork to deliver an extraordinary patient experience.
- Partner with staff to ensure excellent patient service and organizational integrity.
- Assist front office with scheduling follow-ups and tracking lab cases.
- Monitor and order dental supplies as assigned.
- Promote and market services and retail products.
- Complete checklists and participate in daily huddles for smooth operations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
- Follow safety policies, OSHA, and BBP regulations.
- Complete all LMS requirements.
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current radiography certification required.
- Dental Assistant certification as required by state or ability to become certified.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia certification preferred.
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training.
