Job summary

Veit is seeking a Demolition Safety Manager to lead on-site safety programs across field operations in Minnesota. You will train crews, assess hazards, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, MDH, DOT, and other agencies.

This role requires hands-on field involvement and strong communication with project teams. The position emphasizes proactive safety improvements, regular audits, and maintaining certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction, waste, and/or transportation industries.
• OSHA 30 Certification widely recognized in field safety roles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office for reports and tracking.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental principles and practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication with teams, regulators, and clients.
• Ability to follow Veit policies and procedures and drive safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversees safety compliance for construction, facilities, fleet, and field operations.
• Investigates incidents and near-misses; determines root causes and mitigations.
• Delivers in-house training on site safety and regulations.
• Writes site-specific safety programs and prepares Health and Safety Plans.
• Conducts site safety audits and coaching to improve performance.
• Ensures documentation and reporting meet company procedures and regs.
• Provides back-up support for the Safety Coordinator.
