Job summary

Veit is seeking a Demolition Safety Manager to strengthen health and safety across projects and sites. You will identify hazards, address unsafe practices, and reinforce regulatory programs while delivering hands-on safety training in the field.

The role requires strong detail orientation, clear communication, and a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations. You will work with project teams to foster an environment where employees actively contribute to safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction, waste, and/or transportation industries.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety compliance for construction, facility, fleet and field operations to protect all field personnel.
• Investigate safety incidents, near misses, workers’ comp and property damage; determine root causes and implement mitigations.
• Conduct in-house site safety training and prepare Health and Safety Plans.
• Write site-specific safety programs and distribute safety materials.
• Perform regular site safety audits; provide coaching and training as needed.
• Assist field personnel in complying with OSHA, EPA, MDH, MPCA, DOT and related regulations.
• Ensure complete and accurate safety records and reports per company procedures.
• Maintain and distribute air monitoring equipment; manage safety orientations for new staff and subcontractors.
• Identify needs and specify PPE and protective equipment; pursue continuous safety improvements.
• Support management in developing new safety policies and procedures; monitor regulatory trends.
