Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and three to six months related experience preferred and/or training in direct service with older adults living with dementia.
• Knowledge of dementia, particularly of the Alzheimer's type.
• In accordance with state law, may need to possess current state certification and follow regulations to maintain current certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with daily living activities according to the individual service plan and promotes independence.
• Participates in team behavioral expression meetings or discussions with community leadership.
• Knows the residents Life Story, preferences, historical routines and interests.
• Serves meals to residents in the dining room and supports dementia-friendly dining routines.
• Initiates and/or leads Daily Path engagement programs and encourages social participation.
• Maintains residents' records daily and reports changes in health or behavior to the supervisor.
