Brookdale is seeking caregivers to provide dementia-focused care across daily living activities and meaningful engagement for residents. The role emphasizes person-centered plans, respect, and promoting independence in a supportive community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3–6 months direct care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia, particularly Alzheimer's type.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, family members and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Provides dementia care including adapted ADL’s and meaningful engagement according to the individual service plan.
• Assists residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers).
• Participates in team meetings and collaborates with leadership.
• Serves meals and supports residents with proper diet and hydration.
• Initiates and leads daily engagement programs to encourage socialization.
• Maintains residents’ records and reports health or behavioral changes to supervisor.
