Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 1–2 years related experience
• Knowledge of collection procedures and related laws and regulations
• Understanding of Credit Union loan products and policies
• Familiar with default and enforcement clauses
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to apply verbal and interpersonal skills to develop member confidence and cooperative relationships

Responsibilities

• Contact members with past-due loan accounts to coordinate payment schedules
• Arrange payments according to collection policies and guidelines
• Document all collection actions and communications
• Provide financial counseling to resolve financial conditions
• Assess risk and determine likelihood of payments and potential legal action
• Assist in reviewing and updating procedures as needed
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
