Qualifications

• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a professional phone presence.
• Understanding of collection laws, including the FDCPA.
• Proficient with computers — data entry, web apps, and Microsoft Excel & Outlook.
• At least one year of consumer collections experience in a high call-volume environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls, providing friendly, professional support and following policies.
• Set up payments or create plans to resolve past-due accounts.
• Negotiate fair payment solutions while meeting performance goals.
• Keep detailed notes on all interactions and actions.
• Listen actively and communicate clearly with customers, teammates, and management.
• Use skip-tracing tools to locate customers or collateral when needed.
• Support department goals by reducing delinquency and maintaining quality and compliance.
• Manage a high volume of calls in a fast-paced team environment.
• Protect confidential information related to customers and accounts.
