Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a payments collections specialist to locate, notify, and collect on delinquent accounts. The role includes contacting customers, visiting homes as needed, handling cash, and maintaining accurate records.

You will balance cash drawers, process payments, and assist with CRM updates while supporting store operations and customer service on the sales floor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; six months experience in payment collections or office procedures.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails letters and/or late charge notices to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Confers with customers by text or telephone to determine reason for overdue payment and review terms.
• Documents all correspondence with customers concerning accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer’s account.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer and ensures security when unattended.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect late payments and assist with repossessions when approved.
• Prepares paperwork for potential legal action against severely delinquent customers.
• Initiates credit investigations by phone under direction of Credit Manager.
• Logs work activities daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Receives and processes various documentation and reports; uses PC, printer, calculator, etc.
• Assists customers on the sales floor and participates in sales floor rotation, CRM updates.
• Maintains an acceptable sales quota as set by Store Manager.
• Upholds Store Operations Counter and Telephone Standards.
