Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations, coach and develop team members, and ensure outstanding customer service while upholding company standards.

You will oversee staffing, training, scheduling, and performance management, drive sales, manage inventory and shrink, and promote a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, financial awareness, and the ability to mentor staff across departments to deliver results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions; teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members including SDITs, hourly staff and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Drive customer service and store sales while maintaining company standards.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Ensure training completion for all job roles.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Manage P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
