Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking a results-driven store leader to plan, direct and supervise team members across store operations. You will mentor staff, drive customer service excellence and sales while ensuring company standards and prime shopping hours are maintained.

The role focuses on staffing, training, discipline, promotion decisions and financial performance, with an emphasis on safety, attendance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce and deli) helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and root cause issues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions; teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members across SDITs, hourly team members and leaders.
• Completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning with career paths and development needs.
• Disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink in the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and discussions.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and training completed.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and staff to ensure service quality.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
