Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive sales across a dynamic retail environment in Indiana. You will oversee staffing, training, and development, while managing P&L and shrink to meet performance goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across SDITs, hourly positions and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career paths and development for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach the team to exceed goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is thoroughly trained and completed all required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
