Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional in Indiana to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations while mentoring team members and ensuring exceptional service. You will drive sales, manage staff staffing and onboarding, and enforce company standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role emphasizes P&L accountability, process improvement, and a safe, engaging shopping experience for customers. A strong communication and coaching mindset is essential for success at Meijer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Serve as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Ensure positive company image by courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and provide career paths for team members.
• Disciplinary actions documentation and recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to meet customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is thoroughly trained and has completed required training.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
