Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, your role involves helping customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing high-quality customer service in our Deli department. You will arrange vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assist with catering orders, and share your knowledge of our meats, cheeses, and other deli items. Maintaining food safety standards and cleanliness is essential. There are ample opportunities for growth, including learning about products, equipment, and customer service skills. Qualifications

To be a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Be dependable, reliable, and friendly with a positive attitude.
• Have the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Lift and carry products weighing up to 70 lbs., over distances up to 20 feet, without mechanical assistance.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments, such as coolers and freezers.
