Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service. Your duties include arranging vegetables and sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of meats, cheeses, and other deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. There are ample opportunities for growth in this department, including learning about products, equipment, and customer service skills. Qualifications

To qualify as a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Display an outgoing, friendly attitude with the ability to interact positively with customers.
• Be flexible to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and handling special orders.
• Lift and carry up to 70 lbs., and work in different temperature environments, including coolers and freezers.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift, with periods of continuous standing.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties in the department.
• Operate slicing, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely and maintain it in good condition.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
