$16.50-$20.00 per hour

Under both the Food Service Manager and Store Manager Supervision, the DELI CLERK performs the following duties:

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Package, weigh, and price items ordered by the customers from the deli case
• Maintain and rotate products and displays to avoid damages or spoilage
• Set up deli case – re-bowl dishes as needed, put out fresh ingredients
• Label products with appropriate dates and prices
• Remove expired product and discard according to store procedures
• Restock shelves and deli case, cups cutlery, & other supplies from stock room
• Prepare special orders submitted by customers and ready for them when they arrive
• Sample items with customers to increase sales
• Read and understand recipe’s in English
• Maintain the store facility clean, neat and orderly
• Share new ideas to management that would improve the department
• Interact with vendors
• Assist in other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

Training/Education:

• A High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate

Experience:

• Previous customer experience is a plus

Knowledge of:

• Simple arithmetical calculations
• English language (read, write, speak)

Ability to:

• Read, comprehend and relate product knowledge to customers in an understandable manner
• Work in an accurate manner in a fast-paced environment
• Order, stock, face and price conduct
• Work in a team with those contacted in the course of work
• Assist customers promptly
• Communicate orally and in writing with supervisors, co-workers and customers

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Lift bowls of prepared food, up to 25 lbs. from 24” to 36” Constantly
• Lift, carry, push, pull 50 lbs. often
• Carry bowls and plates of food and beverage up to 50 ft.
• Push and Pull Cart and Dolly
• Be able to stand constantly for entire shift
