Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service in our popular department. Your duties include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of meats, cheeses, and other deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. There are ample opportunities for growth, including learning about products, equipment, and customer service. Qualifications

To qualify as a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have an outgoing, friendly attitude and strong communication skills to interact with customers.
• Be flexible with your schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Be able to answer phones, take special orders, and work in a team environment.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for distances up to 20 feet, and stand for up to 4 hours continuously.
• Perform general housekeeping, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Operate slicers and other equipment safely, and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, and obtain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments, such as coolers and freezers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.70 - $22.55 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include competitive pay, health and retirement plans, employee discounts, flexible schedules, and more.
