Under both the Food Service Manager and Store Manager Supervision, the DELI CLERK performs the following duties :
TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Package, weigh, and price items ordered by the customers from the deli case
- Maintain and rotate products and displays to avoid damages or spoilage
- Set up deli case – re-bowl dishes as needed, put out fresh ingredients
- Label products with appropriate dates and prices
- Remove expired product and discard according to store procedures
- Restock shelves and deli case, cups cutlery, & other supplies from stock room
- Prepare special orders submitted by customers and ready for them when they arrive
- Sample items with customers to increase sales
- Read and understand recipe’s in English
- Maintain the store facility clean, neat and orderly
- Share new ideas to management that would improve the department
- Interact with vendors
- Assist in other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following :
Training / Education :
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate
Experience :
- Previous customer experience is a plus
Knowledge of :
- Simple arithmetical calculations
- English language (read, write, speak)
Ability to :
- Read, comprehend and relate product knowledge to customers in an understandable manner
- Work in an accurate manner in a fast-paced environment
- Order, stock, face and price conduct
- Work in a team with those contacted in the course of work
- Assist customers promptly
- Communicate orally and in writing with supervisors, co-workers and customers
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions :
- Lift bowls of prepared food, up to 25 lbs. from 24” to 36” Constantly
- Lift, carry, push, pull 50 lbs. often
- Carry bowls and plates of food and beverage up to 50 ft.
- Push and Pull Cart and Dolly
- Be able to stand constantly for entire shift

- Must be available to work various shifts as needed
