Job summary

Food Lion in Pfafftown, NC, seeks a Deli Bakery HMS Department Manager to lead the Deli Bakery team in the absence of the Deli Manager and to support daily store operations with a focus on service and safety.

You will supervise associates, coach to meet productivity goals, and ensure quality, inventory, and compliance across the department, creating a positive customer experience and contributing to store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong knowledge of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must be NR Food Safety Professionals or equivalent certification with plan to achieve within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the Deli Bakery HMS department in the Deli Manager's absence.
• Oversee labor and coach staff to meet productivity goals.
• Provide leadership to promote a customer-focused culture.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure safe, clean and friendly shopping experience for customers.
• Maintain department appearance, quality, and sanitation.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, and display of merchandise follow policies.
