Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day store operations across departments. You will mentor staff, implement strategies to boost customer service, drive sales, and uphold company standards with a focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and safety.

You will oversee staffing, training, and career development, promote succession planning, and ensure adherence to Meijer policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career path development.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; make recommendations on discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and completed required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
