Job summary

Harris Teeter is seeking a Full Time Deli Bakery Management Assistant in the United States, Virginia, Ashburn area to assist in overseeing up to 80 associates in Fresh Foods. This role supports the Department Manager with direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department within Harris Teeter policies.

You will perform duties across bakery and fresh foods responsibilities, interview/train staff, plan and direct work, and help evaluate performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commitment to unparalleled customer service; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Complete Company's training including but not limited to new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training.

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of baker/fryer, cake decorator, fresh foods clerks, and chef.
• Interviewing and training associates.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Assist in appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
