Job summary

Harris Teeter seeks a Full Time Deli Bakery Management Assistant to assist the Department Manager in directing the Fresh Foods Department and supervising up to 80 associates. You will help plan, train, and evaluate staff, and address customer and employee issues to maintain high standards of service.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced store environment with emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork in the deli/bakery area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commitment to unparalleled customer service; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Complete Company's training including but not limited to new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of baker/fryer, cake decorator, fresh foods clerks, and chef.
• Interviewing and training associates.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Assist in appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
