Job summary

Harris Teeter, LLC. is seeking a Full Time Deli Bakery Management Assistant to support the Fresh Foods Department in Gaithersburg. You will supervise up to 80 associates and assist the Department Manager with direction, coordination, and evaluation to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills. Training will cover safety, food safety, and department management, with opportunities to develop your team and enhance store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commitment to unparalleled customer service; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Complete Company's training including but not limited to new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training.

Responsibilities

• Assist to manage and supervise up to 80 associates in the Fresh Foods Department.
• Assist the Department Manager with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Harris Teeter's policies and standards.
• Interviewing and training associates.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Assist in appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
