Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or equivalent as a Certified Food Safety Manager, or able to achieve accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of Brand Strategy
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Deliver outstanding customer service and create a positive shopping experience
• Role model friendly customer service and use product knowledge to meet customer needs
• Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems
• Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, and food safety are maintained
• Ensure Deli Bakery HMS schedules provide extraordinary customer service
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, and displaying of merchandise follow policies
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
• Record and report accidents as per Food Lion procedures
• Monitor shrink and coach associates to prevent losses
• Utilize advertising and sales promotion materials appropriately
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies and standard practices
• Maintain security standards
• Maintain neat personal appearance and comply with dress code
• Complete CBT and training courses
• Meet the physical requirements of the position
• All other duties as assigned
