Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services seeks a Deli Bakery Associate for a part-time role in Portsmouth, VA. The position offers approx. 20 hours weekly, with open weekend availability and hours from 8am to 7:30pm.

The role emphasizes enthusiastic customer service, deli/bakery duties, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include slicing meats and cheeses, preparing trays and sandwiches, stocking displays, and ensuring proper food handling and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and the ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Tolerates working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Team player.
• Grocery, food service or retail experience a plus!
• Some weekend shifts are required.

Responsibilities

As a Deli Bakery Associate at Military Deli & Bakery Services you will have the opportunity to serve our nation’s Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. Part time position- Offering 20 hours as week. Must have open availability including weekends to be considered.
