Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is seeking a Part-Time Deli Bakery Associate to serve our nation’s Military personnel and families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. This position offers up to 29 hours per week and requires availability for mid to closing shifts including weekends.

The role includes deli prep, customer service, display stocking, and adherence to sanitation and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
• Tolerates working in freezers for up to 20 minutes.
• Grocery, food service or retail experience is a plus.
• Some weekend shifts are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer service and teamwork with positive communication, and assist other team members as needed.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer’s request.
• Prepare custom party trays and sandwiches.
• Stock and organize displays; assist with shipments as needed.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment and proper food handling/preparation.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks as needed.
