Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, seeks a Business Development Engineer to bridge RF capabilities with USSOCOM requirements. You will coordinate with engineering and business development teams, travel up to 50%, and support field demonstrations of StreamCaster radios across multi-domain, tactical environments.

You’ll analyze capability gaps, assist in roadmapping, and present technical demos to stakeholders, including SOF leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Citizen due to clients under U.
• Practical experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux environments, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++) for test automation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
• Outdoor environment for large-scale field trials and tactical demonstrations.
• Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in rugged field environments.
• Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of complex tactical network demonstrations and testing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical capabilities, interoperability, low-signature performance, and field-readiness of StreamCaster radios across multi-domain environments.
• Bridge RF capabilities with USSOCOM requirements and emerging trends.
• Support in planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to benchmark data and verify solution architectures.
• Align with Business Development to meet strategic priorities and client needs.
• Build and present demonstrations for USSOCOM and component commands.
• Perform market research for potential integrations with industry partners.
