Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD seeks motivated students pursuing STEM degrees to work on challenging defense problems. You will develop models, simulations, and software to analyze missiles, RF technologies, and HWIL testing in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA on 4.0 scale in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience programming in MATLAB, Python, C++, Java or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Develop models and simulations to understand complex aerospace and electronic systems.
  • Write software and develop tools to analyze, test, and evaluate RF technologies.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals, physics, mathematics, and data analysis to missiles and defense systems.
  • Help design software tools for hardware-in-the-loop laboratory testing.
  • Analyze performance of current and future defense technologies against missile threats.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to explore new approaches to defense problems.
