Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks students to join the Networked Systems and Integrated Fires Group to tackle challenging problems in air and missile defense. You will contribute to algorithm development, modeling, and data fusion across sensors and networks, shaping next-generation defense concepts.

You will use math, physics, and software skills to model and improve defense systems, while expanding your technical knowledge and supporting national security

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Theoretical knowledge in probability, statistics, linear algebra, signal processing, or related fields.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by start date and final clearance later; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of distributed air and missile defense systems.
  • Model and analyze performance; identify improvements and develop new algorithms.
  • Collaborate in a dynamic, learning-focused team culture.
