The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a dynamic Systems Engineer and Mission Analyst to shape DoD/Navy C2 system performance analyses and to lead MBSE-driven evaluations. You will translate warfighter needs into architectures and requirements, driving disciplined digital engineering across teams.

You will apply MBSE tools and M&S to assess sensor fusion, comms and weapons interactions, supporting informed decisions for next-generation C2 systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required with 5+ years DoD systems experience.
  • Strong MBSE/DE background and familiar with DoDAF/SysML/UAF frameworks.
  • Experience with MBSE tools and translating needs into architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems and digital engineering efforts translating warfighter needs into mission architectures and requirements.
  • Be part of the Trusted Agent/Technical Direction Agent team providing analytical assessments and solutions.
  • Lead MBSE tool development to conduct concept and performance evaluations and design assessments.
  • Apply modeling and simulation to analyze sensor, data fusion, comms and weapons systems for defensive kill chains.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify uncertainties and risks in M&S assumptions.
