Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks graduates to join the Networked Systems and Integrated Fires Group to develop distributed air and missile defense systems. You will model, analyze, and improve existing and prototype systems, applying math, engineering, physics and software skills.

You will contribute to sensor data processing, target tracking, data fusion, and system-of-systems design across sensors, networks, and weapons, while growing technical knowledge for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field.
  • Theoretical knowledge in probability, statistics, linear algebra, algorithms, signal processing, time-frequency analysis, communications theory, electromagnetic theory, machine learning.
  • Experience using MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling and simulation.
  • Proficient analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and results.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret level security clearance by start date; may pursue Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of distributed air and missile defense systems.
  • Model, analyze, and study performance of current systems to identify improvements and propose new algorithms and concepts.
  • Provide status updates, analysis results and algorithms in written reports and presentations.
  • Be part of a group with opportunities for growth and advancement.
