Job summary

RTX in Andover, MA is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Test Solutions Engineering team within the Hardware Discipline Center.

You will architect and build software applications and automated test environments for mission‑critical defense systems, interfacing with state‑of‑the‑art hardware across the lifecycle—from early lab demonstrations and design verification to production testing and sustainment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline; degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience developing, testing, or integrating software applications using one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, or VB/VBA/.NET.
• Experience developing, building, and debugging software applications for Windows using Visual Studio IDE.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and integrate object‑oriented software applications and test software targeting Windows.
• Develop and derive system‑level software requirements, specifications, and architectural designs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software for rigorous test accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate software test tools with hardware.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and defect resolution.
• Work within Agile and Waterfall lifecycles.
