Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a mechanical engineering-focused professional to contribute across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through prototyping and verification, for mission-critical defense systems. You will work alongside systems, electrical, and manufacturing engineers in a collaborative environment.

Occasional CONUS travel is expected; travel opportunities are available but optional. A security clearance is required to start, reflecting the sensitive nature of our projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM must be obtained by start date.
• Experience using parametric 3D CAD software to create 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design via coursework, research, or project work.
• Experience can be gained through on-the-job work, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and document mechanical components and major end items meeting defense system requirements.
• Generate and maintain parametric 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
• Validate designs via rapid prototyping, testing, and simulations.
• Support factory operations, integrating with suppliers and systems.
• Participate in design reviews, address action items, and perform trade studies.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve mechanical issues.
