Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to contribute to defense systems across radar, missile, and command-and-control platforms. You will work from concept design through verification testing, partnering with systems, electrical, and manufacturing engineers in a collaborative environment.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance and US citizenship or eligibility, with occasional CONUS travel. Onsite work in Tucson, AZ, and a competitive salary with comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM must be obtained by start date.
• Experience with parametric 3D CAD software to produce 3D models and drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design through coursework, projects, or competitions.
• On-the-job or academic experience in mechanical design is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and document mechanical components and assemblies per defense system requirements.
• Generate parametric 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with detailed hierarchies.
• Validate designs via prototyping, testing, and simulations.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, and integration with suppliers and factories.
• Participate in design reviews and trade studies to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve hardware issues.
