Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in the United States (Virginia) seeks a Solutions Architect II to accelerate Army and DoD cloud initiatives via data services, AI, serverless, compute, and storage.

You will lead implementation architectures, advise on security with Army stakeholders, and drive database modernization and migrations while sharing best practices with the AWS solution architect community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ or CCSP or Cloud+ or CSSLP.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver cloud architectures for Army workloads spanning data services, generative AI, serverless, compute, and storage, evaluating trade-offs across data store selection, scaling, and failover.
• Own the technical engagement and success of implementation projects, including defining implementation architectures and responding to RFPs, while developing deep expertise in AWS technologies.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor and security subject matter expert to Army and DoD stakeholders, guiding solution adoption and identifying risks.
• Lead database modernization and migration engagements, leveraging repeatable designs and creating new patterns when needed.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge across the Solutions Architect community through presentations and workshops.
