Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Solutions Architect II to accelerate defense-focused cloud initiatives for the U.S. Army and DoD. You will shape strategies, engage customers and partners, and lead database modernization efforts using AWS services and serverless technologies.

You will collaborate with a broad team, share best practices, and mentor peers while traveling up to 35% to support deployment and customer engagements across the US and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver cloud architectures for Army workloads spanning data services, generative AI, serverless, compute, and storage, evaluating trade-offs across data store selection, scaling, and failover mechanisms.
• Own the technical engagement and success of implementation projects, including defining implementation architectures and responding to RFPs, while developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications are built on the platform.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor and security subject matter expert to Army and Department of Defense stakeholders, guiding solution adoption and identifying opportunities/risks.
• Lead database modernization and migration engagements, using repeatable design patterns and reference architectures; create new reusable designs when needed.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge across the Solutions Architect community through presentations, workshops, writings, and peer collaboration.
