Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Solutions Architect II in the United States (Virginia) to accelerate the Army and DoD cloud adoption. You will design architectures using AWS services, guide migrations, and collaborate with SI partners to deliver secure, scalable solutions for defense workloads.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Bachelor's degree, or CASP+, CCSP or Cloud+ or CSSLP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver cloud architectures for Army workloads spanning data services, generative AI, serverless, compute, and storage, evaluating trade-offs across data store selection, scaling, and failover.
• Own the technical engagement and success of implementation projects, including defining architectures and responding to RFPs, while developing deep AWS expertise.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor and security SME to Army and DoD stakeholders, guiding solution adoption.
• Lead database modernization and migration engagements, using repeatable patterns and creating reusable designs for novel approaches.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge across the Solutions Architect community through presentations, workshops, and written guidance.
