Job summary

Mortgage Connect is seeking a Default Title Specialist - Deed in Lieu to support title review, curative activity, and document preparation throughout the Deed in Lieu process. You will ensure accurate Title Packages and timely communications with clients, investors, and internal teams.

The role requires attention to title requirements, payoffs, and tax/HOA items, with coordination across vendors and attorneys to resolve issues and meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 1+ year experience in title, curative, default servicing or related mortgage operations preferred.
• Understanding of title commitments, searches, vesting, liens, taxes, and HOA items preferred.
• Ability to review requirements, research records, and resolve curative issues with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills to manage a high-volume pipeline and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage Deed in Lieu title files from referral through clearance and reporting.
• Review title commitments, ownership reports, vesting, liens, taxes, and other exceptions.
• Identify outstanding requirements needed to support Deed in Lieu closing or conveyance.
• Coordinate with vendors to prepare and quality-control Deed in Lieu documents.
• Prepare and submit Title Packages and supporting documents for HUD/VA conveyance.
• Track payoffs, lien releases, satisfactions, and other curative documents.
• Coordinate with clients, borrowers, attorneys, and internal teams to resolve issues timely.
• Monitor milestones, aging files, and follow-ups to meet deadlines.
• Provide status updates and client responses regarding clearance and risks.
