The position involves mooring, docking, cargo handling, routine maintenance, and adherence to safety regulations. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, basic mechanical knowledge, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Familiarity with maritime safety rules and vessel communication protocol.
  • Excellent communication skills to work as part of a small team under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and support the day-to-day vessel operations to assist with safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
  • Handle mooring lines and assist with docking, towing, and anchoring operations.
  • Maintain deck cleanliness and organization; assist in shift operations and securing lines under supervision.
  • Assist with cargo operations including loading/unloading of materials and containers.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as chipping, painting, cleaning, repairs, and lubrication.
  • Operate basic deck equipment like towing winches and capstans; report safety concerns per policy.
  • Stand watch on vessel when underway and participate in drills and safety procedures.
